ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï’s Action Plan on Anti-Black Racism affirms a clear institutional commitment:

ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï can and should strengthen its connections with Montréal’s Black communities so that the campus more fully reflects the city’s rich diversity. The University also recognizes the need for concrete strategies to increase access for Black students, including deeper engagement with local high schools and CÉGEPs that serve a high proportion of Black learners.

In response, ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï has launched a series of initiatives to support the next generation of Black leaders. Among them is the Horizon Scholars Program, a year-long academic enrichment and campus exposure initiative for Black CÉGEP students across Montréal.

The program is designed to equip participants with the academic preparation, confidence, and civic awareness needed to successfully apply to ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï’s world-class programs and to thrive academically, personally, and professionally.

Current Programs

ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï is on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. We acknowledge and thank the diverse Indigenous peoples whose presence marks this territory on which peoples of the world now gather.
