Thursday, February 5, 2009toMonday, March 1, 2010
Redpath Museum 859 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H3A 0C4, CA

Recently donated by the Estate of the late Dr. Bruce Trigger (ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Anthropology), and his wife Dr. Barbara Welch (ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Geography), a handwritten letter and photogravure from 1877 form the centrepiece of this new exhibit about Darwin's connections to ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï. Accented with fossils, a herbarium specimen (on loan from the ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Herbarium), and the 4th edition of Darwin's landmark book "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection" (on loan from ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Rare Books and Special Collections), this exhibit highlights the important role of natural history collection, documentation, and preservation in 19th century science.

Accompanied this year by Darwin Now ! a special display of ten information panels that celebrate Darwin's life and work. Prepared by the British Council and travelling internationally since 2009, Darwin Now ! will be at the Redpath Museum until March 1.
