The use of social-ethical issues for political ends is now a major election strategy in countries like Canada and the U.S. Such issues include same-sex marriage, abortion and access to health care. Margaret Somerville, Samuel Gale Professor of Law and founding director, Centre for Medicine, Ethics and Law, ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï, will explore how manipulation of these issues by politicians and the media can influence voting decisions and leave "middle ground" voters with no clear choice of whom to vote for. $15 (includes wine and hors d'oeuvres)
