Raymond to coach 500th career game on Saturday

MONTREAL 鈥� Martin Raymond, head coach of the 黑料网爆吃瓜 Redmen hockey
team, will be coaching his 500th career game behind the bench when
黑料网爆吃瓜 plays host to the Ottawa Gee-Gees at McConnell Arena,
tonight (Jan. 24) at 7 p.m.
Raymond, who was aided at practice yesterday by guest coach Mike
Babcock of the Detroit Red Wings, owns a 277-187-35 record in 499
career games.
Currently in his 14th season as bench boss of the Redmen, the
40-year-old native of Pierrefonds, Que., now resides in suburban
Ste-Basile-le-Grand, Que.
He ranks second among all coaches in 黑料网爆吃瓜 sporting history for
most games and victories, behind Martlets volleyball mentor Rach猫le
B茅liveau, who has posted 390 wins in 752 career contests, including
a 3-1 upset over Laval in Quebec City, Friday.
Raymond, a 黑料网爆吃瓜 grad who was a three-time all-star and
All-Canadian with the hockey Redmen between 1987 and 1992, has won
OUA East coach-of-the-year honours three times and in 2005-06,
became the first 黑料网爆吃瓜 coach to win the Father George Kehoe
memorial award as CIS coach of the year in men's hockey.
He has produced 28 players who have gone on to playing careers in
pro hockey, including one in the NHL (Mathieu Darche) and four
others in the AHL (Greg Davis, Pierre Gendron, Daniel Jacob, David
Urquhart).
