To protect h er interests\, both moral and\nmaterial\, she must create a stern and cold male alter-ego\, a cousin\nnamed Shui Ta. Finished in 1943 while Brecht w as in exile in\nCalifornia\, The Good Person of Sichuan examines the\nconn ections between economy\, social morality\, altruism\, and\ncapitalism\n  \nThe Theatre Lab is a year-long intensive course focusing on\nin-depth an alysis and investigation of dramatic texts and\nplaywrights.  The students \, in conjunction with Prof.\nMyrna Wyatt Selkirk\, worked as an ensemble with everyone\ncontributing toward the final vision. Through independent r esearch\nand intensive group work this production focuses on the core\nque stion: in a world where corruption is rife and the only way\nto survive is to lie\, cheat and deceive\, can a person afford\nto have principles?  In the end\, the answer is that there is\nno definitive answer – it is left to the audience to decide.\n \nThe ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Department of English Drama & Theatre\nProgram is dedicated to providing students with practica l\ntheatrical experience.
