 of Sichuan\, translated by Michael Hofmann playing\nat Moyse Hall Theatre 
 from April 1-3 and 8-10\, 2010 all shows at\n7:30pm.\n \nPlease join us fo
 r Bertolt Brecht’s classic parable of economy\nand social morality wherein
  a young prostitute\, Shen Te\, struggles\nto be good\, but finds her kind
 ness taken advantage of by neighbours\nand so-called friends. To protect h
 er interests\, both moral and\nmaterial\, she must create a stern and cold
  male alter-ego\, a cousin\nnamed Shui Ta. Finished in 1943 while Brecht w
 as in exile in\nCalifornia\, The Good Person of Sichuan examines the\nconn
 ections between economy\, social morality\, altruism\, and\ncapitalism\n 
 \nThe Theatre Lab is a year-long intensive course focusing on\nin-depth an
 alysis and investigation of dramatic texts and\nplaywrights.  The students
 \, in conjunction with Prof.\nMyrna Wyatt Selkirk\, worked as an ensemble 
 with everyone\ncontributing toward the final vision. Through independent r
 esearch\nand intensive group work this production focuses on the core\nque
 stion: in a world where corruption is rife and the only way\nto survive is
  to lie\, cheat and deceive\, can a person afford\nto have principles?  In
  the end\, the answer is that there is\nno definitive answer – it is left 
 to the audience to decide.\n \nThe ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Department of English
  Drama & Theatre\nProgram is dedicated to providing students with practica
 l\ntheatrical experience. Costume Design by the Costuming Class and\nCathe
 rine Bradley (Resident Costume Designer)\; Set\nDesign by Jordana Globerma
 n\, Lighting Design by\nManuel Roman\, and Sound Design by Tessa\nVikander
  under the tutelage of Keith\nRoche (Little Miracle Productions\, Segal Ce
 ntre for\nPerforming Arts\, Just for Laughs).  Music composed by Danji\nBu
