Over almost four decades\, Dr. David Bird\, the\ndirector of the Avian Science and Con servation Centre and a\nprofessor of Wildlife Biology on the Macdonald cam pus of ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï\nUniversity\, and his staff and graduate students have capti ve-bred\nseveral thousand kestrels and published over 100 research papers on\nthis species. Despite this success\, there exist dark clouds on the\nh orizon for the American kestrel in the wild.
