DESCRIPTION:On June 22 1960\, the Liberal party under Jean Lesage won the\n
 provincial election marking the beginning of Quebec’s “Quiet\nRevolution”.
  In the fifty years since historians\, academics\,\npoliticians and the ge
 neral public have vigorously debated the\nnature of the Quiet Revolution a
 nd its impact.\nThis colloquium returns to the actors involved in these re
 forms\nto get their perspectives on these events and shed light on some of
 \nthe myths and symbols about the Quiet revolution and living in the\nQueb
 ec of the 1960s and 1970s. Many important actors of that period\nare still
  alive and will greatly contribute to a better understand\nof the period\,
  which seems increasing distinct from today’s\nreality.  This is especiall
 y true for the anglophone public to\nwhom this event is  primarily speakin
 g. By using the English\nlanguage for the debates\, this event contributes
  to an oral history\nof the events of the Quiet Revolution in English\, fo
 r teaching\,\nresearch\, public education and media purposes.\n
