It has long been a legal battleground as well\, particularly where religious issues arise.\nFrom the famous 1940 M inersville case in the USA\, for example\, to the current Quebec case\, Lo yola v. Courchesne\, the courts have been asked to adjudicate the boundari es between family\, religion\, and the state. The Universal Declartion of Human Rights (art. 26)\, the Toledo Guiding Principles on Teaching about R eligions and Beliefs\, and various international covenants seek to provide guidance in negotiating these boundaries.\nThe purpose of this symposium will be to explore the question of religious freedom in both public and pr ivate education.\nSymposium information and schedule: www.mcgill.ca/prpp/a nnouncements/october-2013-conference\nRegistration\n\nRegistration Period: 9-25 September\nFee:  $150 / Students $50 (taxes included)\nSeating is li mited.\nREGISTRATION ONLINE: www.newmancentre.org/conference\n\nContributo rs*\n\n\nIain Benson (Global Center for Pluralism)\nBenjamin Berger  (Law\ , York)\nJanet Epp-Buckingham (Laurentian Leadership Centre\, Ottawa)\nDia Dabby (Law\, ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï)\nPaul Donovan (Loyola High School)\nBernard Drainvil le (Quebec Cabinet Minister)\nDouglas Farrow (Arts and Religious Studies\, ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï)\nEjaz Haider (Daily Times\, Pakistan)\nAsif Iftikhar (Islamic Stu dies\, ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï)\nIan Jamison (Tony Blair Faith Foundation)\nSolange LeFebvr e (Religious Studies\, U.
