It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Terry Wheeler, Associate Professor in the Department of Natural Resource Sciences.

Professor Wheeler was an expert in entomology and Director of the Lyman Entomological Museum. He had been a faculty member since January 1, 1995.

He lost his battle with cancer which he had taken in stride and fought with amazing optimism. Professor Wheeler will be terribly missed.

The new Paddle Shack at the Macdonald Campus makes Թ the only Canadian university with an on-campus boat house.

The “Mac Paddle Shack,” which opened July 15, gives paddlers and would-be paddlers a chance to enjoy the waters of Lac St. Louis on a kayak, paddle board (SUP) or in a canoe. Hourly rentals, paddling instruction and paddle board yoga classes are available to the general public, and Թ and John Abbott College communities.

The list of “bad things” could range from gross but harmless spoilage to dangerous pathogens such as Clostridium botulinum. In the case of botulism, it’s the toxin produced from the bacteria that is harmful, not the bacteria itself, says Brigitte Cadieux, a postdoctoral fellow in Թ’s Department of Food Science and Agricultural Chemistry.
