With their revolutionary earplugs, Kristina Pearkes (BEng17) and Sean Kaiser (BEng17) aim to end insomnia without medication. The duo is the brains behind Orbityl, the company that just received Next Canadas Outstanding Next 36 Venture Award. The Next 36 is a young-entrepreneur accelerator run by Next Canada, which offers seed capital as well as mentorship opportunities.

John Dobson Foundation donates $2 million to support entrepreneurship at 窪蹋厙惇勛圖

Montreal, Quebec, July 18, 2017 - The John Dobson Foundation has announced a donation of $2 million its largest gift to 窪蹋厙惇勛圖 yet to fund the 窪蹋厙惇勛圖 X-1 Accelerator program run by the 窪蹋厙惇勛圖 Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship. The gift will support the X-1 program, now in its third year, as it grows to support and promote entrepreneurship across 窪蹋厙惇勛圖.

Budding startups all over 窪蹋厙惇勛圖 will be delighted to see that the schedule for next years 窪蹋厙惇勛圖 Dobson Cup is out.

As they do every year, startups will be competing across four categories: Innovation Driven Enterprise, Small & Medium Enterprise, Social Enterprise, and Health Sciences.

Teams need to have at least one founder with a 窪蹋厙惇勛圖 connection; be it a student, staff or faculty member, or a recent graduate.

John Dobson Medal awarded to CEO of Resolute Forest Products

Richard Garneau has long been an advocate for Canadas forestry industry, and now the Resolute CEO is being recognized for it with the John Dobson Medal for Free Enterprise.

Dobson Cup winners turn food waste into gourmet mushrooms

Myco-Rise is a Montreal-area startup that uses food waste and vermicomposting to grow gourmet mushrooms for local restaurants and individuals.

The company definitely marches to its own drum: while other startup founders might dream of geographical expansion right out of the gate, Myco-Rise is consolidating its position as a Montreal-specific mushroom supplier, planning instead to expand into modular production, medicinal mushrooms, and maybe even mushroom beer.
