New CRC, Rachel Langevin, Receives President’s Prize for Outstanding Emerging Researchers

Three exceptional scholars at Թ were awarded the 2026 President’s Prize for Outstanding Emerging Researchers at convocation ceremonies held on May 28, May 29 and June 1. The annual prize recognizes early-career researchers who have distinguished themselves by their exceptional contributions to research. Faculty of Education's Prof. Rachel Langevin, was among the three winners.

New Appointment for ECP's Prof. Marie-Hélène Pennestri

On March 20, 2026, it was announced that Professor Marie-Hélène Pennestri will be appointed as Թ's new Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and Associate Provost (Graduate Education). The Թ Board of Governors approved both appointments at its meeting on March 19, 2026 and her five-year term will begin on July 1, 2026.

Study offers guidance on the therapeutic use of mindfulness, yoga to boost mental health for dementia patients

Non-pharmacological interventions, such as mindfulness, meditation, yoga, tai chi and breathing practices, have shown promise in helping to reduce some mental health symptoms of patients living with cognitive decline or dementia, but it has been unclear which types work best, for whom and under what conditions.
