Ecological Determinants of Health in Society Concentration (54 credits)

How does the environment affect human health and health policy?

This program focuses on the interface between human health and the environment, which includes both the biological and the ecological determinants of health. Also included is the the role of social sciences in the design, implementation, monitoring and critique of health interventions. Themes and topics that students will encounter include: demographic patterns and urbanization; global food security and nutrition; economic forces, the role of culture and ethics; social change.Ìý

NOTE: Students may take up to a maximum of 30 credits at the 200 level and must take no fewer than minimum of 12 credits at the 400 level or above. This includes required and complementary courses.Ìý
