Construction starts: Chancellor Day Hall – Student Space Renovation (Lot 1)

ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï’s Facilities Management and Ancillary Services (FMAS) will carry out Project 19-166 OCDH – Student Space Renovation – Lot 1 at Chancellor Day Hall on the Downtown Campus.

The project consists of revitalizing and renovating areas in the basement of Chancellor Day Hall, including patching and painting in hallways and student areas, as well as updating furniture.

Scope of work

The goal of this project is to revitalize and renovate areas in the basement of Chancellor Day Hall.

This construction notice is for Lot 1, which includes patching and painting of hallways and student areas, and updating furniture.

  • Locker Areas (#10A and #64): Removal of full-height lockers and replacement with existing mid-height lockers; reallocation of locker assignments.
  • Corridors (#5A, B-Hall-1, and B-Hall-6): Painting work and furniture upgrades.
  • Cafeteria (#6, #7, #8, and #8A): Temporary storage space for relocated furniture and lockers being donated to the CSSDM.

Impact on occupants

  • Access restrictions: The entire basement of New Chancellor Day Hall will be closed for renovation for the duration of the project. Access will only be granted to Law Students Association (LSA) personnel and for emergency evacuation purposes.
  • Service interruptions: No service shutdowns are anticipated.

Safety measures

No specific risks to building occupants are anticipated. Standard construction safety protocols will be in place throughout the duration of the project.
