This workshop deals with pitching and writing academic book reviews.The tips and strateg ies you will develop here are also transferable to pitching articles to po pular publications\, and to evaluating other scholarships as part of your research. We will cover the following topics:Key elements of a book review Pitching a journal in your fieldTimeline for completing the reviewBefore t he workshop\, please identify at least one journal in your field that publ ishes book reviews and any submission guidelines they may have posted. Opt ional: Identify one to four ideas for texts that you might want to review. The books should have been published by an academic press within the past five years\, but you need not have read them! This workshop is led by Dr. Amanda Perry\, who holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from New York University. She has taught literature at NYU and Concordia\, and she has m ultiple academic publications in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes . The workshop will be offered online on Wednesday\, March 10\, 2021\,  9: 00 am - 10:30 am.
