In this presentation\, Professor Allard-Tremblay argu es that non-Indigenous peoples in Canada hold a responsibility to support Indigenous efforts to take their land back and to assert their jurisdictio n. He previously he ld postdoctoral research fellowships at the Centre for Research in Ethics of the University of Montréal and at the ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Research Group on Constitu tional Studies. Dr. Allard-Tremblay is a member of the Huron-Wendat First Nation.\n\nDr. Allard-Tremblay’s current research in political theory is f ocused on the decolonization and Indigenization of political theory. More specifically\, Dr. Allard-Tremblay is interested in investigating ways in which existing mainstream concepts and methods in political theory may sil ence and distorts the thoughts and claims of Indigenous peoples. He is als o interested in investigating ways in which the political thoughts and cla ims of Indigenous peoples offer alternative ways to think about\, and tran sform\, political conduct and political concepts. Dr. Allard-Tremblay’s ea rlier research was concerned with epistemic theories of democracy.
