Machine learning strategies that utilize pathological h igh-frequency oscillation (pHFOs) features\, along with analyses of action potentials from neurons in the epileptogenic zone during pHFOs\, show tha t certain fast ripple generating cortex may be more important than others for identifying the epileptogenic zone.  Our data show that these certain hyper-excitable PIN clusters may be distinguished by reduced or depolarizi ng synaptic inhibition. \n\nShennan Weiss\n\nAssistant Professor of Neurol ogy and Physiology and Pharmacology\, SUNY Stony Brook \n\n\n\nShennan Wei ss MD/PhD received his bachelor's degree at Pomona College in molecular bi ology and neuroscience and completed the NIH medical scientist training pr ogram at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
