We are delighted to announce that Marcin Sabok has been awarded the Ryll-Nardzewski Prize.

The prize was established to honour the great Polish mathematician Czesław Ryll-Nardzewski, and is awarded by the Ryll-Nardzewski Center at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The prize is for outstanding achievements in mathematics in areas related to the work of Ryll-Nardzewski.

Tina Piper appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Tina Piper as Dean of the Faculty of Law at Թ. Her five-year term will begin on April 1, 2026.

Professor Piper has been serving as Interim Dean of Law since winter 2025. In this important transitional role, she has led Թ Law with warmth, intellectual rigour, and a focus on cultivating both academic excellence and a strong sense of community.

On March 20, 2026, it was announced that Professor Marie-Hélène Pennestri will be appointed as Թ's new Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and Associate Provost (Graduate Education). The Թ Board of Governors approved both appointments at its meeting on March 19, 2026 and her five-year term will begin on July 1, 2026.

New injectable gel could help repair damaged swallowing muscles

A new injectable gel developed by researchers at Թ and Kyoto University could enable stem cell-based treatments for swallowing disorders.

While stem cells have the potential to repair damaged swallowing muscles, ensuring their survival after injection has been a major challenge. In a preclinical study published in Biomaterials, the new approach improved stem-cell survival by more than five times compared with traditional methods.
