To address the growing problem of overprescribing for seniors, a new Canadian guideline is calling for routine medication reviews.

The idea for this resource arose from a discussion between a patient with myasthenia gravis and Maxime Grenier, a master鈥檚 student in physical therapy at 黑料网爆吃瓜, during which Maxime noted a lack of resources and support for people living with this condition.

The department is delighted to announce that three faculty members: professors Codruta Ignea, Natalie Reznikov and Carolie Wagner, have been awarded tenure and promoted to the rank of听Associate Professor, effective听June 1, 2026.

The Carrie M. Derick Award for Graduate Supervision and Teaching, awarded by the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, acknowledges outstanding contributions to promoting graduate student excellence through supervision and teaching by a faculty member who has been supervising for 10 years or less.

Congratulations to Dr. Bridget Andersen, who has received the 2026 Yablonovitch Research Prize.

The prize, established in 2022 by Eli Yablonovitch, BSc 1967, DSc 2018, and Karen Yablonovitch, is awarded annually by the Faculty of Science at convocation to a graduate student enrolled in the Faculty of Science who has achieved the best research accomplishment in experimental physics.

May 29, 2026 | Pearl Eliadis spoke to CHIP-FM about the rise in visible homelessness across Quebec and the Quebec Homelessness Prevention Collaborative's call for upstream legal reform. Eliadis notes that visible homelessness rose 40% between 2018 and 2022 and another 20% between 2022 and 2025, arguing that current government measures "are still not enough" and that Quebec has yet to honour its 1976 commitment to enshrine the right to housing under the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

May 27, 2026 | Pearl Eliadis, an active member of the Quebec Homelessness Prevention Collaborative (CQPI), helped launch the coalition's proposed legal reform to make prevention a national priority in Quebec. Eliadis argues that "homelessness is not inevitable" but reflects political choices, and that prevention represents the most cost-effective response to a crisis estimated to cost the province nearly $1 billion per year.
