Welcoming Dr. Shirin Abbasinejad Enger to the Department of Pathology

The Department of Pathology is pleased to welcome Dr. Shirin Abbasinejad Enger, who joined us as an Associate Member at the Jewish General Hospital this past spring.  

Dr. Shirin Abbasinejad Enger is an internationally recognized medical physicist whose work advances precision oncology through the development of technologies that improves the accuracy, personalization, and effectiveness of radiotherapy for patients with cancer. 

At ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï, she leads a multidisciplinary research program spanning four major areas: artificial intelligence in oncology, brachytherapy technology, radiobiology and microdosimetry, and radiation detector innovation. Her team develops advanced treatment planning systems, novel radiation sources, radiation detectors and delivery systems, and AI-enabled platforms designed to personalize cancer treatment and improve patient outcomes. 

Dr. Enger is actively involved in professional service through national and international medical physics organizations. Her work has resulted in multiple patents, clinical innovations, competitive research funding, and recognition through awards and high-impact publications. Through her scientific leadership, mentorship, and translational innovation, Dr. Enger has made significant contributions to medical physics and is helping shape the future of personalized cancer treatment.
