In this interact ive seminar\, we reflect on the varied and intertwining paths that brought us to the points in our careers where we are asked often to provide mento rship and career advice to others\, drawing out lessons for individuals as well as for the structures and institutions that support them in the work we all do.\n\nDr Ayelet Kuper MD DPhil FRCPCis a professor in the Departm ent of Medicine\, Temerty Faculty of Medicine\, University of Toronto\, a scientist and associate director at the Wilson Centre\, and a member of th e Division of General Internal Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Cent re. She holds cross-appointments at the Institute for Health Policy\, Mana gement and Evaluation\, the Dalla Lana School of Public Health\, and the A nne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies (all at the University of Toronto. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and is frequently invited to speak internationally on various aspects of health professions educati on. Her contributions have been recognized with multiple national awards\, including the 2024 May Cohen Award in Equity\, Diversity and Gender from the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada and the 2024 Senior Inv estigator Award from the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine. Dr Kuper p reviously served on the executive of the Canadian Association for Health H umanities\; she is a member of Royal College Council and the President of AMEE: The International Association for Health Professions Education.\n\nD r. Sophie Soklaridis is a Scientist and Section Head of Education at the W ilson Centre and a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Family & Community Medicine\, Temerty Faculty of Medicine\, University of Toronto.  Dr. Soklaridis’ research program uses critical social science and qualitat ive research approaches to explore the inclusion of clients/families in th e life of the hospital as advisors\, educators and experts. Her approach t o research moves beyond current biomedical research priorities to understa nd the client as a person\; to emphasize the importance of considering rel ational dimensions in health professions educational initiatives and resea rch and\; to develop strategies that reflect how the concepts of diversity and social justice can inform both education scholarship and influence th e client/family experience of mental health service provisions.\n\nThe iss ues of power\, privilege\, equity\, identity and relationship-centred care are the threads that weave across her research program in mental health a nd addictions education scholarship and care.
