Sam Harper and Arijit Nandi have received funding to help strengthen national capacity in metaresearch through the Research-on-Research joint initiative, supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and Michael Smith Health Research BC (MSHRBC).

Infrastructure funding from the CFI’s John R. Evans Leaders Fund, matched by Quebec, propels research innovation at ��Թ�
Twenty ��Թ� researchers have received infrastructure awards from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) to support their innovative projects, for a total federal investment of $5.5 million.
These grants will be matched by the Quebec government, doubling their value.

Claire M. Brown, Professor in the Department of Physiology, has been selected as Chair for Inclusion in Science and Engineering (CISE) in the province of Quebec. The newly established CISE program is jointly funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT).

Newest Fellows and Members to the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists recognized for scholarly, research and artistic excellence

Ten ��Թ� professors researching in such areas as child trauma, memory and cardiovascular diseases are among the Royal Society of Canada’s (RSC) newest Fellows. Another two early-career professors at the University have been named Members of the RSC’s College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.

They are among 104 new Fellows and 56 Members from across the country announced by the RSC on September 3, 2024.

��Թ� Professor and Canada Research Chair in Pediatric Oncology, Nada Jabado, has been named the 2024 L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Laureate for North America. Dr. Jabado is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, a Senior Scientist in the Child Health and Human Development Program at the Research Institute of the ��Թ� Health Centre (RI-MUHC) and a Pediatric Hemato-Oncologist at the Montreal Children’s Hospital of the MUHC.
