ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï’s Bicentennial milestone is a significant occasion to highlight the importance of collaboration and innovation in sustainability, locally and beyond.Â
In September, ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï will be hosting the Sustainable Futures Festival, a week-long series of events that invite the ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï community, as well as partners and guests, to envision a collective future.

About the Bicentennial
ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï’s bicentennial anniversary represents a momentous occasion for our community. It is as much a time to celebrate our long history of achievement as it is an opportunity for reflection as we chart the course for our third century.
About the ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Sustainability Systems Initiative
Shifting to a more sustainable future requires taking a multi-faceted, systems-level approach to some of the world’s knottiest problems. The ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Sustainability Systems Initiative (MSSI) seeks to mobilize ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï researchers around sustainability challenges and equip the next generation with the skills needed to address these issues. In its novel approach, the MSSI provides opportunities for researchers from very different disciplines to interact and co-design projects that address complex problems from a variety of perspectives. The outcome is a robust and vibrant community of committed sustainability researchers.
ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Office of Sustainability
Established in 2010, the ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Office of Sustainability embeds climate action and sustainability into all of the University’s activities. It engages, supports, and connects students, staff, and faculty by providing strategic guidance and resources to foster a sustainable community.
The Office of Sustainability stewards ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï’s flagship Sustainability Projects Fund, oversees the implementation of the ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Climate & Sustainability Strategy 2020-2025, and offers sustainability programming for students, staff, and faculty members.
