  • Registration for BIOL 101/111 (Fall) and BIOL 102/112 (Winter) opens on the dates listed on the ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Service Point website.
  • Registration approvals cannot be issued before the official registration dates.

Registering for BIOL 101 or BIOL 102 (lab component only)

  1. Consult an academic advisor to confirm your course selection and prerequisite(s).
  2. Once approved, contact annemarie.lheureux [at] mcgill.ca () and specify the course number(s) needed.
  3. Indicate whether you have completed or will be taking the corresponding lecture course concurrently.
  4. Include your ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï Student ID number and needed lab time.

If your needed lab section is full :

  • Register to any available lab section first.
  • On the first day of classes, use the course’s discussion board to find a student willing to switch lab sections.
  • Complete the switch simultaneously using Minerva's Quick Add/Drop feature.
  • No lab changes are permitted after the first lab session.

If the course is full :

  1. Email annemarie.lheureux [at] mcgill.ca () with:
    • Your ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï student ID number
    • Needed lab day
    • Reason for needing the course this year
  2. If no space becomes available, attend the desired lab day and wait outside Room N4/2, Stewart Biology Building, at least 15 minutes before the lab begins.
  3. Available spots may be assigned to students, who are present in person, at that moment.

You must attend your registered lab section on the first week, even if it occurs before your needed and contemplated lab section, or you risk losing your place.

Important Notes

  • Attendance for the first lab (labs start on the second week of the term) is mandatory. Students who do not attend their registered lab on the first lab week, will lose their registration.
  • Lab information will be provided during the first lecture and is described on myCourses at the start of the semester.
  • For Minerva issues, contact the ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï IT Help Desk (514-398-3398).
