Adjunct Professor/ Senior AI Cybersecurity Engineer
Biography
With a career bridging federal service and enterprise innovation, Kevin Leon-Alsina is a US Army veteran and senior AI cybersecurity professional. His expertise spans FedRAMP authorization, Zero Trust architecture, AI enablement and governance, and large-scale digital transformation. He builds communities of practice that accelerate adoption, ethics, and oversight for emerging technologies.
Today, he enlightens students as an adjunct professor at ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï in the School of Cybersecurity and Information Technology, where he helps learners connect responsible AI practices to measurable business value and integrate the NIST AI Risk Management Framework with practical risk-based decision making for modern organizations.
As a mentor and community builder, Kevin supports veterans transitioning to civilian careers through coaching on certifications, résumés, interviews, and networking. Each summer he co-leads an instructor course in partnership with Loyola University that equips high school students with foundational cybersecurity knowledge and the confidence to pursue STEM pathways. Leon-Alsina has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and master’s degree in cybersecurity management and policy from ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï and is completing his DBA in applied artificial intelligence at Baker College.
