Golnoosh Farnadi

Dr. Golnoosh Farnadi is an Assistant Professor of the School of Computer Science at ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï, and Adjunct professor at Université de Montréal. She holds a Canada CIFAR AI Chair and is a Core Academic Member at Mila. She is an internationally recognized expert in fairness and privacy in AI and is involved in a variety of efforts toward improved AI governance.

She is the founder and principal investigator of the at Mila/ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï. EQUAL lab (EQuity & EQuality Using AI and Learning algorithms) is a cutting-edge research laboratory dedicated to advancing the fields of algorithmic fairness and responsible AI. With a mission to promote equity and equality in AI systems, Equal Lab harnesses the power of advanced learning algorithms and AI technologies to tackle the pressing issues surrounding bias and discrimination in AI and machine learning models.

Samira A. Rahimi

Dr. Samira A. Rahimi, B.Eng, PhD, is a Canada Research Chair (Tier II) in AI and Advanced Digital Primary Health Care. She is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences at ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï, and an Associate Academic Member of Mila – Quebec AI Institute. She also serves as Research Co-Director of the General Practice Residency (GPR) program in dentistry at the Jewish General Hospital.

With an interdisciplinary background, her research, supported by national and international funding, focuses on developing and implementing advanced digital health technologies—including AI-enabled tools—to improve primary health care. She is particularly committed to improving care for vulnerable and underserved populations, ensuring that innovation benefits everyone.
