Delphine Collin-Vézina

DVCProfessorÌýDelphineÌýCollin-Vézina has been the Director of the Centre for Research on Children and Families since 2014. She is a clinical psychologist and Full Professor at ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï, and an internationally Ìý recognized leader in child mental health and trauma. She holds the Nicolas Steinmetz and Gilles Julien Chair in Community Social Pediatrics. As Principal Investigator, she has secured over $9 million in research Ìýfunding across 35+ projects and published more than 215 works (h-index 49). A member of the Royal Society of Canada, she has received numerous honours, including the 2024 Coronation Medal of King Charles III and awards from the Université de Montréal and the Canadian Psychological Association. She has trained over 5,000 professionals worldwide and is a sought-after keynote speaker.

Her research advances justice, equity, and well-being for children affected by trauma. She focuses on trauma-informed, rights-based approaches across systems (child protection, social services, justice, and education) and on improving responses to child sexual abuse. In 2020, she received a $2.5M SSHRC grant to establish and lead the Canadian Consortium on Child & Youth Trauma (CCCYT), a national network of 125+ partners bridging research, practice, and policy. Through its bilingual, cross-sector infrastructure, the Consortium integrates research, practice, and policy to advance trauma-informed care, delivers applied training and mentorship to students and emerging scholars, and mobilizes knowledge to strengthen services and outcomes for children, youth, and families across Canada.
