Learn, raise awareness,Ìýand initiate an exchangeÌýof ideas…

Each year, the Office of Indigenous Initiatives (OII) coordinates two weeks of events in September involving Indigenous academics, artists, and community members.

As part of ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï’s commitment to honour and celebrate Indigenous knowledge, IAW offers a dedicated time to engage the broader ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï community in learning from Indigenous peoples. Indigenous Awareness Weeks (IAW) provide the ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï community an opportunity to learn more about Indigenous cultures, histories, and societies. They also help foster a dialogue about First Nations, Métis, and Inuit topics important to individuals and their communities. Since 2011, invited guests have includedÌýacademics, community members, Elders, and students.Ìý

This year's series marks the 15th annual Indigenous Awareness Weeks at ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï. It will take place from Friday, September 18th to , Wednesday, September 30th 2026. Ìý
