Indigenous Initiatives

Indigenous Initiatives is the central hub for Indigenous strategies and initiatives at ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï.


Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Strategic Plan (2020 - 2025)

The EDI Strategic PlanÌýwill ensure that EDI considerations are accounted for in all core University activities, and sets out a range of objectives and measures that ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï will undertake over the next five years.


ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï's Action Plan to Address Anti-Black Racism

ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï's Plan for Addressing Anti-Black Racism will address five key areas:

  1. Student experience, which will focus on outreach, representation, support, and success vis-à-vis Black students at ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï.
  2. Research and knowledge, which will focus on the recognition of ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï’s Black researchers and on enhancing, through scholarship, a critical understanding of our institution’s historic ties to slavery and colonialism.
  3. Outreach, which will focus on engagement with Montreal’s Black communities.
  4. Workforce, which will focus on representation, retention, and promotion of Black academic and administrative and support staff at ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï.
  5. Space, which will focus on measures to represent the vibrance and contributions of ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï’s Black community members on our physical campuses and the creation of dedicated space for Black members of the ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï community.
