OSVRSE at Macdonald Campus!

OSVRSE continues to be at the Macdonald Campus this semester. Find our Response Advisor, Justine Noiseux, at Student Services (suite 124 of the Centennial Centre) on the last Wednesdays of the month:

February 25, March 25, and April 29.

You can book these dates on our online booking platform (see "Book an Appointment" button above)up to 11 days in advance, or by contacting the office.

What to expect at your first meeting

Whether your appointment is online or in person, you will be asked to complete a brief intake form at your first appointment to collect basic information regarding you and your current needs. Every question has the option “prefer not to answer”.

The first appointment will be focused on your current needs which can include:

  • Crisis intervention
  • Coordination of academic, workplace and housing accommodations
  • Safety measures on campus
  • Information on and help accessing further resources (including medical, psychological, community services)
  • Information on and support regarding reporting options

Accessibility

We strive to create accessible and inclusive space.

  • The building is wheelchair accessible via the main entrance on Sherbrooke. One accessible and gender neutral washroom is available within our office.
  • This space is scent-reduced to minimize risk for people with chemical sensitivities, allergies, and asthma. Please refrain from wearing scented products, such as perfume, cologne, shampoo, conditioner, soap, hairspray or gel, laundry detergent, fabric softener, or lotion.

Our Team:

Émilie Marcotte, Associate Director

Having worked in the fields of sexual and gender-based violence in the community and public sectors in Montreal, Émilie (she/her) joined Թ with the establishment of the office in 2017. Her current work focuses on supporting the development and implementation of anti-oppressive and trauma-informed sexual and gender-based violence prevention and response processes at Թ. She works in partnership with stakeholders across the institution and the broader Montreal community. Émilie is a clinical social worker and member of the OTSTCFQ. She enjoys sitting in the sun and diving into a good novel.

Justine Noiseux, Response Advisor

Justine (she/her) is a clinical social worker and member of the OTSTCFQ. Prior to joining the OSVRSE team, she worked with children, teens and families affected by childhood sexual abuse and assault at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, where she was also a longstanding member of the Ethics and Child Protection Committees. At OSVRSE, she is available to offer information about our services and troubleshoot concerns with partners on and off campus, and can communicate in English and French.

Maureen Adegbidi, Education Advisor, (Outreach)

Maureen's (she/her)role involves developing and supporting OSVRSE's sexual and gender-based violence educational projects and initiatives across all sectors of the university. She comes from a community work background and has been working in the Montreal and Quebec non-profit sector since 2017. Maureen looks forward to using this wide-ranging experience to better serve all Թ students, staff and faculty. Outside of work, you can find Maureen with a good book, outside on a long walk, or at a live music show.

Omenyi Tangelo, Education Advisor, (Program)

Omenyi's (they/them) work centres on leading the administration of OSVRSE’s online educational offerings as well as partnering with stakeholders across the institution to develop a full range of educational materials around sexual and gender-based violence prevention and response for Թ’s community. Omenyi has a professional background in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and specializes in Black (trans)feminist thought and praxis. They can usually be found enjoying women’s sports leagues, especially the WNBA!

Robyn Nogue, Administrative Coordinator

Robyn (she/her) will likely be your first point of contact in the office, whether you're emailing, calling, or coming in for an appointment. She will get you connected with the appropriate member of our team, whether you're looking for support, to consult on a situation, to request a workshop, or to collaborate on event organization. She has an extensive background in administrative support, as well as an Associate Degree in Anthropology. She loves making friends with the neighborhood cats and hunting down the best ice cream spots.

Թ is located on unceded lands which have traditionally served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst diverse indigenous peoples. The Kanien’kehá:ka, a founding nation of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and the Anishinabeg are recognized as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which Tiohtià:ke/Montréal is located. Learn more about the land you’re on and commit to taking action to support the ongoing resistance and thriving of local Indigenous communities.
