2026 Faculty of Science Excellence Award winners announced

Ann Jack (Clerical), Diti Anastasopoulos (Management), and Maxime Leroux (Technical) have been named recipients of the Faculty of Science Excellence Awards.  

These awards, announced at the Faculty of Science Council meeting on May 20th, recognize the outstanding contributions made by members of the Faculty’s administrative and support staff during the 2025-2026 academic year.

Krista Muis Interviewed about Teaching Digital Literacy to Kids

Prof. Krista Muis’ digital literacy research helps children separate facts from fiction online by identifying credible information sources, using better search techniques, and improving cognitive skills. Historic plant collections offer a window into genetic change

Pressed plant specimens collected centuries ago and stored in herbaria around the world could play a key role in facilitating the tracking of genetic change and extinction risk in plants, a Թ-led study indicates.

Teaching children to be better, more critical internet users

A digital literacy program for elementary school students designed by researchers at Թ was successful in improving students’ ability to evaluate websites and their content.

Skills targeted included how to search for information, how to identify credible websites, how to evaluate the quality of information sources and how to address conflicting information.

Geography Professor Mallik Mahmud receives MEOPAR 2026 Early Career Researcher Award
