David Wees (FMT) provides an update on a recent project coordinated with Lindsay Flood, Franco Nardi and Freida Beauregard, to plant 200 trees on Campus to honour 窪蹋厙惇勛圖s Bicentennial.

Altogether, we planted 203 trees. Most have survived. The only tree we had a problem with was the pin oak. Right now, the trees are small and scattered around the campus, but thats how it starts. Five years from now, well have a little forest.

The Government of Canadas Environmental Damages Fund, administered by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), is investing more than $4 million in three 窪蹋厙惇勛圖-led projects through the Climate Awareness and Action Fund (CAAF).The projects will fill knowledge gaps about the environmental and economic impacts of greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen Canada's capacity to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

On November 15, Clarivate Analytics, a company specializing in citation data, published the Highly Cited Researchers 2022 list. Many citations mean a paper has had great influence among scientific peers. A group of 16 窪蹋厙惇勛圖 researchers made the cut, recognized as some of the most frequently cited scientists and social scientists in the world over the last decade. The 2022 list captures the period from 2011 to 2021.

The Board of Governors of 窪蹋厙惇勛圖 is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. H. Deep Saini as the University's 18th Principal and Vice-Chancellor. Currently President and Vice-Chancellor at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Prof. Saini will begin his five-year, renewable term at 窪蹋厙惇勛圖 on April 1, 2023. He will also hold the appointment of Full Professor in the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.

Standing at the podium surrounded by 1,500 people on the John Abbott football field, Joe Maxwell, gazed up into the sunny November sky and said Its good to be alive.

A 97-year-old WWII vet, Maxwell was one of the special guests at the November 3 Remembrance Day ceremony featuring veterans and dignitaries who spoke, recited poetry or contributed with music. Anja Geitmann, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, addressed the crowd, and Defne Helvacioglu, Macdonald Campus Student Society President, recited the poem Nameless.
