University places 30th globally and breaks into global top 10 for sustainability

Թ is once again Canada’s top university, according to thereleased June 17. Rated 30th in the world among more than 1,500 institutions, Թ remains the highest-ranked university in Canada and the only Canadian institution to hold a place in the QS’ global top 30 for four consecutive years.

Թ Faculty of Education’s B.A. (Education); Major in Education in Global Contexts has been selected as a “stand out program” in Maclean’s 2026 Ultimate Guide to Canadian Universities.

Designed for students interested in the intersections of education, leadership, policy, and social change, the program combines interdisciplinary study with practical experience through a semester-long internship.

The Minister of Education has reappointed Tino Bordonaro, a Course Lecturer in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE), as Chairperson of the Advisory Board on English Education (ABEE) at the Ministère de l’Éducation (MEQ). The Board’s mandate is to advise the Minister on matters related to English education. Tino Bordonaro is grateful for the Minister’s continued confidence and looks forward to continuing the Board’s important work.

The Award for Distinguished Teaching recipient is Dr. Emmanuel Tabi, who was presented a certificate at this morning’s Spring Convocation Ceremony. The Heather Reisman and Gerald Schwartz Award for Excellence in Teaching is being given to Dr. Emma Harden-Wolfson.

Meet Ryan Dvorak, Faculty of Education's valedictorian for this year's convocation.
