For ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï President Gregory Fowler, graduation is more than an opportunity to confer degrees. He also sees it as a chance to showcase the broad spectrum of supporters who encouraged each ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï graduate across the finish line.

The new program will offer specific areas of focus, including substance use, dependency and addictions; marriage and family counseling; child and adolescent counseling; military culture and family dynamics; gerontological counseling; and sex therapy.

When the Yawsons stepped on stage to collect their diplomas at Grad Walk on May 10, tiny Elia and Eliana were in their arms and Simone, nearly 2, was at their side.

On April 30, at an event Milton thought was to inaugurate a conference room in honor of him and his late wife, ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï President Gregory Fowler, had a surprise. Fowler conferred on Milton—one of the university’s oldest and most distinguished alumni—a Bachelor of Arts degree and presented a diploma and a mortar board with tassel that Milton donned with pride.

The member of the Georgia Army National Guard stepped onto the stage at ºÚÁÏÍø±¬³Ô¹Ï’s 2024 Grad Walk and proved that she can stick to a goal—even through a military deployment in Afghanistan, even through the death of her child’s father, even through a relocation.

Her master’s degree won’t be the only thing Gause is looking forward to celebrating at Grad Walk. She will also meet fellow student Donunshae Baker in person for the first time. The two women forged a strong virtual friendship while working on an assignment for an introductory communications course in their master’s programs.
